Welcome to the Service Level Management blog. My name is Greg Crow and I’ll be your blog host. Since this is my first blog, I’ll take a little space to introduce myself.
I am a Quest Foglight product manager with a focus on the strategy and execution of our Service Level Management (SLM) capabilities. I came to Quest via the acquisition of Magnum Technologies in May of 2007. Magnum was most noted for its integration, SLM and associated offerings. As a SLM consultant to over 75 companies prior to Magnum, founding Magnum and driving the business for 10 years as Magnum’s CEO, you could say that I’ve seen an evolution of SLM over the years.
While this blog is centered on SLM, I’ll also discuss other related topics including the different application infrastructure inputs and outputs to achieve SLM, how to leverage Foglight to achieve maximum value from your existing IT investments, best practices for implementations, integration concepts and why SLM is worth the hassle. Since SLM is so closely linked to other topics like BSM, CMDB, dependency mapping and discovery, I will provide clarity on Quest’s position and markets for them as well.
