Last week, Gartner held their ITxpo Symposium at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Quest was the premier sponsor of this event and we were there to [re]launch Foglight. As the premier sponsor we had prime booth location on the showfloor, as well as a number of sessions. We had taken our latest release of Foglight (v5.2) and we created 4 demo stations in the booth, covering 4 key aspects of Foglight.
- Virtualization Management
- End User Management
- Java Application Management
- Service Dashboarding
All of these demo stations were busy throughout the show, but what was exciting for me - and my colleagues - was the way each of these demos was received. In particular, our solutions for VMWare and End User created a lot of buzz. I would recommend taking a look at these on our newly revamped website. These demos are available, for a short time only, on our Virtual Tradeshow Booth.
We had the benefit of a virtualization expert - Scott Herold - there with us to help explain the value that our solution brings to your virtualization strategy, although a lot of this was quickly grasped after 4-5 minutes looking at our solution. The audience was primarily senior management and executive-level, yet were interested in discussing the technical facets of our solution as well as the high-level business value. What it did allow us to do was validate that our message and the solution is resonating with the wider community.
I would like to share with you a story told to me by one of our customers regarding our VMWare solution. They recently upgraded to Foglight v5.2 and this senior executive asked his Foglight administrator to take a look at the VMWare solution and to give him a call when he had it installed and collecting interesting/useful data. Fifteen minutes later, the Foglight administrator calls back and told him to come take a look. Now that's quick time to value!
Again, I have no real tips and tricks in this blog posting either but I promise to start sharing them soon…
